the SON OF GOD

Just who is the SON OF GOD?!?  “If” HIS name was/is Jesus, then who is Jesus?!?  How would you answer this age old question?

Beginning in Matthew 16:13 is a most interesting description of Jesus going to the region of Caesarea Philippi.  He asked his group of 12 disciples this question, “Who do people say I am?”  Their answers ranged from John the Baptist, Elijah, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets!  When Jesus asked, “But what about you?  Who do you say I am?”

Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of The Living God.”  Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.”  That question was asked and ANSWERED then, and the same answer continues both now and throughout eternity.

Jesus said many times, “When you have seen the FATHER, then you have seen the SON.  Jesus said in John 14:31, “I do what my FATHER tells me to do.”  In John 12:49-50, Jesus said he has not spoken on his own authority; but the FATHER who sent Him tells Him what to say and how to say it.

Before Jesus was even born, he was criticized, opposed, rejected; and HE still is!   However, after thousands of years, God is still broadcasting that JESUS is the SON OF GOD! Who do the people in your life say that He is?  More importantly, who do you say He is?  Perhaps you have heard His Name or been around people who say they belong to Him.

Today, would you consider asking Jesus if He is who He says He is.  Ask Him to please present Himself to you.  Ask Him if you are who He says you are. Seek Him out.  Remember… Isaiah 65:1 “I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me.  To a nation that did not call on my name, I said, ‘Here I am, Here I am.’”

The Way to Salvation

GOD’S LOVE AND PLAN: We believe that God loves everyone and has a purpose for their salvation and eternal destiny. John 3:16 (NIV) - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

HUMAN SIN AND SEPARATION: Because of sin, which has divided humanity from God, it is impossible for mankind to find redemption and eternal life on their own. Romans 3:23 (NIV) - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

JESUS CHRIST, OUR SACRIFICE: Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross and rose from the dead to pay the penalty for sin and bridge the gap between God and people. Romans 5:8 (NIV) - "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

FAITH AND REPENTANCE: God offers humanity salvation as a free gift. Repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ are prerequisites for receiving it. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV) - "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." Acts 3:19 (NIV) - "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."

NEW LIFE IN CHRIST: Believers are called to live a life in Christ, transformed by the Holy Spirit, and part of God's family, the Church. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) - "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"

RESTORED COMMUNION WITH GOD: Eternal life with God, from this point on till eternity, is the ultimate aim of salvation.  John 10:28 (NIV) - "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand."

If you have accepted Jesus, the Son of God, as your savior for the first time, please let us know! We would love to celebrate with you!
