Jesus was prophesied as the Lamb of God in both the Old and New Testament. It is written in Isaiah 53:7, “He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.”
John the Baptist sees Jesus and proclaims in John 1:29, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
